Our pattern for women’s Japanese Commoners includes full-size pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions on how to construction kosode, uchigi, and hakama in a period manner (as well as directions for machine sewing). Also included are extensive historical notes on the origin and variations of these outfits and directions on how to wear them in various ways as was done in the Kamakura through Muromachi periods.
