The Revolutionary Era

Perspective is everything!   The beginning of things for us Yanks here in the newly-created United States of America were just a an inconsequential year in the middle of the reigns of George III of England and Louis XVI of France.   Unlike the French Revolution, our little unpleasantness didn't turn the fashion world on its ear.   In fact, it doesn't seem to have effected clothing at all.   In these United States, we continued to wear English and French fashions, buy English and French fabric, and follow English and French trends.   I hate to disappoint, but we just weren't terribly interesting... yet!
