Anime USA announces Reconstructing History's resident Costume Historian Kass McGann is guest for 2014 convention
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Anime USA, a three-day convention in Washington, DC celebrating Japanese animation, art, culture, history, and fashion, is pleased to announce that renowned costume historian Kass McGann will be a guest lecturer at their 2014 event.
Anime USA’s mission is to promote and educate the public about Japanese arts and popular culture. Since its inception, Anime USA has been a convention of Otaku, by Otaku, for Otaku. Anime USA is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit managed solely by a staff of volunteers.
At its heart, Anime USA seeks to discuss and promote anime; other associated arts such as storytelling, costuming, and voice acting; and Japanese culture at large. Anime USA holds lectures, classes, conferences, and workshops to educate interested members of the general public and encourage the development of their own artistic abilities.
Kass is excited to be coming to Anime USA to share her love of Japanese historical fashion, costuming, and costume creation. She will also be judging in the "masquerade" costume competition. In the coming weeks, Anime USA will be highlighting some of her exciting panels and workshops on
http://animeusa.org/ and the
