Get a New Deal with our 1930s NRA Wrap Dress and Coat

During the Great Depression, manufacturing processes had to change to reduce waste and keep costs down. The United States had the National Recovery Act that asked manufacturers to produce garments with less material and fewer trimmings for the sake of the recovery effort.

Based on an original pattern from 1934 stamped with the NRA logo, this wrap dress and coat are as easy to wear as they are to make.  Simply constructed but still beautiful, you can whip one up in a weekend.

Fits busts 30" to 50". All sizes in one envelope.

Also included are assembly instructions, embellishment suggestions, and the extensive historical notes you've come to expect from Reconstructing History.

Suggested Fabrics: crepe de chine, silk crepe, printed silk, silk, georgette, rayon, linen, cotton
Notions: buttons
Yardage Requirements: 4.5 yards 40" wide or 3 yds 54" wide each for coat and dress
