One Pattern for all your late Victorian skirt needs!

Possibly the most ubiquitous female garment in every time period is the skirt. In the 19th century, skirts went truly mad. In the late 1870s, the bustle was discarded and a new "Natural Form" look was in style. By the early 1880s, the bustle returned, again giving the impression that the lady wearing it was shaped more like a centaur than a human.

Bustled. Natural form. Underskirt. Overskirt. Petticoat. Based on an original pattern from the 1870s, late Victorian skirt-for-all does it all!

Note: This pattern is for the skirt (green or pink on the cover art) only.  This pattern does not include tops or draperies.

Fits waists 20" through 40", hips 30" through 50". All sizes in one envelope.

Also included are assembly instructions, embellishment suggestions, and the extensive historical notes you've come to expect from Reconstructing History.

Suggested Fabrics: worsted wool, heavy linen, heavy cotton twill, other bottom weights

Notions: thread; buttons, snaps, or hooks and eyes for front for closure; interlinings optional

Yardage Requirements: 4 yards 60" wide, 5.5 yards of 45", more if napped
